Very impressed with whole resort. One let down was internet access (Resort acts as agents only to outside source)was hopeless! Kept dropping out and slow.

Absolute beautiful setting, huge apartments only spoilt by very hard beds which were uncomfortable to us (but agree some may prefer hard beds), jet noise from the airport ensured early wake up, but we were on Top floor facing airport. TV needs upsizing. Steak sandwiches from Bistro were the best I have had. Feel free to remove my negative remarks as I would prefer to not do any harm to their patronage -yes I would stay there again (but would look at other resorts closer to city center 1st due to hard bed issue).
One suggestion would be for them to have the 2\\\" mattress covers for sale/hire as others also commented about hard beds -possibly due to some nationalities (japanese) I believe like the hard beds but did not see to many at the resort. Double glaze the windows and add insulation as they are losing business I am certain due to these 2 issues.

We spent 8 nights here with our kids in a 2 bedroomed apartment and had a fantastic stay; wish we were still there! Our apartment was immaculate and well positioned (opposite a swimming pool/BBQ area). The balcony looked out to Centenary Lakes and we enjoyed breakfast there each morning. The furniture/fixtures were delightful and we appreciated the modern bathroom and spa in the bath. Cooling has been well considered with fans and airconditioning in every room. There was plenty of parking in the underground car park. The centre of Cairns is a reasonable hike on foot so we hired a car.

The resort was great for the kids, being gated and family orientated the boys had a little freedom doing their own thing. The apartment had everything we needed and was clean and well maintained. Excellent value for money. I would recommend these apartments especially to families as they are so well equiped, a home away from home.
The only downside, a car is a must unless a poolside holiday is what you are looking for, not alot around in the way of facilities, groceries etc..

The Lakes Resort is a great family resort. The only downside is that there internet services are pathetic and unfortunately the resort must be situated in a bad area where you basically have no mobile service either.

Upon arrival we found this resort to be excellent. The apartment was a high standard and comfortable for a family. Plenty of pools and BBQ facilities available for guest to use. This was one the best places that I have stayed anywhere around the world.

Water in all the pools was too cold for the kids. Suggest at least two of the four be heated. Quite a walk into town and the early planes were loud being under flight path. But other than that a great experience.!

What can i say other than this is a fab resort and well worth the money! The staff are so helpfull and location is good.
The hotel has a shuttle bus that will take you to and from cairns town daily.
I would definately stay here next time im in cairns.

Right from booking with travstar and dealing with Natasha was great excellent service from your staff.Our stay at The Lakes Resort was tops very friendly staff very helpful as well the rooms were superb I think footstools would be great in the rooms.
Cairns is a lovely place for a holiday and I can say that taking time out to book with Travstar and just been able to walk in give them our name no hassels at all.
i would recomend to anyone wanting a real holiday to go visit Cairns.
We went out on the boat Quick Silver that wa fantastic and getting off onto the pontoon was incerdiable seeing the Great Barrier Reef was wow.
Thank you for organising our Motel for us that was great.
will go back again.

We all had a lovely holiday, the weather was beautiful & so was the Lakes Resort.

We ate lots of sea food as it was so fresh & tasty. We don’t get sea food like that at home.

Travstar service was also excellent, your quick e-mails & organizing, made everything a breeze!

The only thing wrong ---- was it wasn’t long enough!!!!

The lakes was well set out and the food places were lovely relaxed rooms were lovely well stocked and clean I think the staff need to have more training on the info they give out some were more helpful anothers I know this happens but they are the front people you see and I heard other people complaining I would like to say thank you to Emma at your service who booked us she was great with all her knowledge of the lakes and surrounding areas and trip info I will book again though your company and will tell other how helpful you were Thank you agian

We had a very enjoyable stay. The Resort facilities were excellent. The only inconvenience was the resort is 4 KM frome Cairns city. The resort should offer a free shuttle bus instead of having to pay for the service. The cost of a taxi for family of 4 is the same as the cost the shuttie bus(one way $11). This adds extra cost on top of your accommodation. Overall we had a great time.

Excellent resort was too cold for us to swim but pool looked great and was used by lots of kids. Airport transfers and shuttle bus all ran to time and were very handy.Lovely to walk through botanic gardens right next door. Nice big beds!
